who

My intention is to hold space for sustainable creativity through community.

I grew up in Los Angeles, spending time in art studios surrounded by illustrators, designers, typographers, composers, filmmakers, and photographers in the delicate time just before computers and iPhones took over as the primary tools for creating visual communication.

Graphic Design became a focus during my late teens, leading me to an education in Communication Arts. Slow and steady—I trained in traditional illustration, color theory, and typography while watching technology rapidly advance, blending into every corner of visual arts. I embraced both traditional and technological approaches every step of the way.

In 2003, my career began as a graphic designer in advertising agencies and grew into art direction. When I started a family in 2008, I decided to freelance and took on projects that felt exciting, new, and sometimes even a little weird or out of my comfort zone. In 2016, I launched a boutique creative studio in the LA Arts District with an East Coast partner and office in Brooklyn. We specialized in branded community events and visual identity. That experience opened the door to opportunities working in-house as a creative director for multiple growing brands (where you can find me now.) I continue to value the balance of old and new, persistent growth, and the classic appreciation for measuring twice and cutting once.

I believe our value as humans (and artists) extends far beyond productivity, and have experienced that staying curious is the key to staying creative. To fuel inspiration and joy, I incorporate daily practices of compassion towards myself and others. These small acts provide fertile ground for each new project and client.

I am constantly inspired by the people I meet through my work and grateful for the opportunities to collaborate, expand, and learn.

With love & curiosity,

Asia
